I am a teacher, and I have used this scanner to quickly scan student essays and papers to instantly project on my classroom Smart Board so that we can review and discuss papers. The software is so simple to use, but allows you to do most things: scan in black/white, gray scale, or color right into PDF (t is a small program that launches quickly and does not use lots of resources). I also use it to scan bills and other docs so that I can shred them and throw away. It has been valuable for me in eliminating paper clutter. As a teacher, I am in the process of digitizing 95% of my paperwork. I have a larger flatbed scanner/copier/printer unit, but I rarely use it now to scan, because the DSmobile 600 is so much faster and convenient. I recommend this product without reservations.

We use this scanner to digitally file our statements, receipts and bills. It scans quickly and quietly, without the need for an adapter and without taking much space on one's desk. It partners well with Adobe Acrobat -- and I've seen no software compatability issues with Windows XP Home or XP Professional. It also allows you to continuously scan multiple page documents (as opposed to scanning each page as its own PDF file).

We are a small services oriented business that has remote employees. We've equipped those employees including some of our in house employees with the Pentax DSmobile 600 Scanner. This is totally hassle free with the ability to scan in pdf or jpg - in black and white and in color.

This was a great buy for me. I work for the county of El Paso and it is very inconvient for a contractor like myself to use office-based equipment. This is why I purchased a portable scanner. This scanner is light, compact, fast, and super easy to use. The software is clear and to the point. You can preview the scan as it is happening and gives you the option to rescan that particular page without altering the whole document. I can scan pictures but I haven't tried it. Another big thing is that it uses power from the laptop not a dedicated power supply.

I got this for Christmas, and I have used it for scanning many insurance documents. The clarity and accuracy is top notch. I have only used it to scan about a hundred different pages so far, and no problems. I had looked long and hard at all the options out there and I have not been disappointed with this purchase.

I drive around 3000 miles per month as an account manager - my office is my vehicle. The ability to scan documents immediately, rather than wait until I get to a Staples or home is invaluable to me. For a scanner this small, it is FANTASTIC. No complaints whatsoever. Drivers and utilities are also tiny which I appreciate.
